Employee Spotlight: Jan Ivanoff
For this month’s Employee Spotlight series, we checked in with Jan Ivanoff, a client relationship specialist who joined the team almost a year ago. Coming from an extensive background in the insurance industry, we talked with Jan about her transition into the wealth management space, her day-to-day responsibilities and some fun facts about herself and her family.
You work directly with Daryl Patten, VP and financial advisor at the firm. Tell us about your CRS responsibilities and your role on his team.
I handle client service requests such as scheduling, assisting and preparing financial reviews and other account-based needs for Daryl’s clients. I’ve been with Fort Pitt for almost a year now, previously holding a role at an insurance company for 18 years as their regional office manager. The shift in industries is different, but it’s been exciting to learn something new every single day. I’ve found that being surrounded by the executives and other team members here has also allowed me to become more aware and educated about my own financial decisions.
What is the best part of the job?
Everyone at the firm is a close-knit team, and the other CRS team members have been wonderful and key to my own growth and understanding over the last year. It’s great to see the team effort and how open and receptive everyone is to aiding each other. It’s very hard to have an effective business without this mindset. There is great camaraderie and atmosphere, which really promotes a positive bond and willingness for everyone to want to succeed across teams
What is your favorite getaway or vacation?
My daughter just finished her junior year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a cheerleader so on many weekends during the school year, my husband and I will travel there for football and basketball games. Looking ahead to the summer, my family will continue our Bethany Beach, DE vacation tradition, which we have been doing for the last 20 years.
